Finally, the HTX crypto exchange restarted its crypto services after a hacking attack that caused the exchange to lose nearly $30 +$100 million in crypto assets.
HTX is a popular crypto exchange formerly known as Huobi Global. This year, the company rebranded this exchange under the leadership of popular crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun. According to reports, Justin Sun owns the majority of the shares on this platform, but Justin has never publicly admitted this.
On November 22, 2023, HTX suffered a hacking attack and lost almost $30 million worth of cryptocurrencies. Following the hack attack, the exchange suspended crypto deposit and withdrawal services for all crypto assets.
And also later, the hacker targeted HTX’s Heco chain and stole nearly $110 million worth of crypto assets. However, Justin confirmed that the exchange would compensate all customers who suffered losses in these incidents, but that was not enough to restore customer confidence.
On November 26, the HTX exchange resumed Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRX and USDT stablecoin deposits and withdrawals. Justin said the team is working tirelessly to open up the services to all other crypto assets available on the exchange.
The situation for Justin is very stressful right now due to these hacking incidents. His other crypto platform Poloniex also suffered a hacking incident and lost $100 million in crypto assets.
This is a very shocking moment for Justin’s entire crypto empire because people don’t trust all those crypto platforms or cryptocurrencies supported by Justin.
In the past crypto journey, Justin founded Sun Coin, JST Coin, TRX Coin, BTT Coin, Sunswap Exchange and Apenft Coin. In the past 24 hours, TRX’s trading price has fallen by 2.17%, which is the biggest drop among the top 10 cryptocurrencies.
