Animoca Brands Japan Unveils NFT Launch Pad ‘SORAH’

Animoca Brands Japan has announced the name of its new NFT launch pad, SORAH by Animoca Brands Japan, and it will launch in summer 2024.

Named after the Japanese word for air, SORAH aims to support NFT projects by allowing creators to sell their NFTs while offering different sales methods and loyalty programs.

More information about these programs will be released at a later date.

Connecting the world as one

Kensuke Amo, COO of Animoca Brands Japan, explained the inspiration for the naming: “SORAH by Animoca Brands Japan is inspired by our goal to seamlessly connect Japan and the global community in the web3 domain, just like the sky (SORA [空] in Japanese) connects the world as one. Since its inception, Animoca Brands Japan has been involved in the global development of Japanese intellectual property and content (IP) in the web3 domain, while simultaneously supporting the development of overseas projects in Japan. By now establishing our own launch pad, we plan to further strengthen these efforts and accelerate the mass adoption of Web3 by serving as a gateway for IP between Japan and abroad.”

The launch pad supports blockchain networks such as Ethereum and Polygon, and payment options include credit cards and cryptocurrencies.

SORAH will utilize sales formats such as raffles and first-come, first-served, and will be compatible with digital wallets such as Metamask and WalletConnect, using the ERC-721 token standard for NFTs.

The platform also aims to increase the global presence of Japanese intellectual property, including manga and anime, and aims to act as a bridge between Japanese IPs and international audiences.
