To celebrate the launch of Astar zkEVM, a Polygon-powered Ethereum Layer 2 solution, Astar Network have unveiled “Yoki Origins,” a gamified Web3 adventure.
Yoki Origins will see participants collect and develop NFTs of Yoki characters based on Japanese culture and folklore as they explore the Astar zkEVM ecosystem.
The web3 adventure is backed by some of the biggest names in business and web3 – including CASIO, Japan Airlines, QuickSwap and more – and is now live.

Inspired by the ‘yokai’ spirits from Japanese folklore created by a team of talented Japanese illustratorsYoki Origins sees participants explore the Astar zkEVM ecosystem to collect unique NFTs from a number of enterprises using the network.
These companies will distribute and sell unique Yoki character NFTs of custom ‘Yo-Port’ machines, as well as toy capsules on the Yoki Origins website – with First Edition capsules available now.
By interacting with projects in the Astar zkEVM ecosystem, players collect Lore points and OMA, an in-game item. These can be used to develop your Yokis, making them truly unique NFTs.

Through evolution, Yokis can gain a wide range of usefulness.
Examples include a premium subscription to DappRadar and premium access to XO, a web3 dating app, where there is much more to discover.
In addition to the companies already mentioned, participating companies include Kyushu Railway Company, CANDY GIRL, Dew and Rarible, to name a few.

For a limited time, Yoki Origins participants will receive double their daily OMA allowance.
This gives players more resources to develop their Yokis, unlocking the ability to gain more usefulness faster.
