Boss Fighters Economy updates and more

Boss Fighters has been busy in recent months organizing regular play sessions, adding updates to the game including new weapons, holding a competition for player-designed Boss skins, and now they’ve announced their plans for the game -economy revealed!

Boss Fighters has released some information about their planned game economy, which works on a three-tier system. A player can choose to participate in one, all, or none of these levels, depending on what they want to invest and what they hope to get out of the game.

Players who just want to play and have fun are welcome to do so. Boss Fighters are always free to play.

For those who want the web3 experience and the chance to play and earn money, they can do so through ‘Utility Digital Collectibles’. The base level, Badges, allows players to earn BFT tokens when equipped. Players will receive a bonus to their earnings if they also have other skins equipped. Badges are created through Showrunner contracts, which are in turn created by Stadiums.

Badges must be recharged periodically, which is also done through the Showrunner contract. Contracts also have their own individual benefits, such as faster badge loading time or faster creation. Other benefits of the Stadium include streamer-focused features (not sure what that means), discounts, and increased BFT rewards.

BFT tokens are used for crafting, exclusive purchases and other in-game activities.

These Utility Collectibles are expected to go on sale sometime in the second quarter of 2024, although we don’t have any further details on that yet.

Boss Fighters is free to play and available for download via Steam. They hold regular play sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Check their social media for the exact times.

What is Boss Fighters?

Boss Fighters is an asynchronous arena fighting game that pits a team of players against another player as The Boss – a gigantic enemy that can smash buildings to pieces, shoot lasers, and even rip off and throw the giant hot dog off the top of the restaurant it to the puny people! The Fighter players have guns, missiles, grappling hooks, sticky bombs and other weapon and equipment options to aid in their fight against the Boss.

Boss Fighters is free to play. And those who have no interest in blockchain or NFTs can still play and earn in-game rewards. Boss Fighters contains digital assets and NFTs, but these are cosmetic only and do not affect gameplay. The game proceeds in seasons. During each season, players gain experience as they play, allowing them to unlock new gear, cosmetics, and upgrades. These rewards can be wiped out between seasons, but players have the option to spend in-game currency to mint certain items in an NFT. Since the Boss players are the heart of the game, they will see higher rewards for participating in the game. This includes bonuses for playing regularly.
