Season 4 of the alpha actually started in December 2023 and brought numerous additions and updates to the game. This includes improved terrain graphics and the ability for players to interact with the game world through activities such as mining, timber harvesting and fiber gathering. The user interface also received an overhaul.
There are also more character customization options, giving players the chance to differentiate themselves. And speaking of making their own unique mark, players now also have access to advanced landscaping tools, allowing them to easily add vegetation and change land heights. Additionally, Animal NFTs appear in the game, where they act as crafting stations.
And while the time to participate in the community mission is soon coming to an end, My Neighbor Alice plans to keep the game going. They say periodic game resets may still occur, but any NFTs created will always remain the property of the players.
My Neighbor Alice puts a somewhat unique spin on crafting. When creating an NFT item, a portion of the issued ALICE token goes as collateral towards the item. Players can then use or stake their items in-game to collect passive rewards in ALICE tokens. An item can be burned at any time to return the collateral to the owning player. This ensures that each NFT item always has a base value.
What is my neighbor Alice?
My neighbor Alice is a blockchain-based multiplayer building and farming game. Players can own and purchase virtual islands and meet friends as they build and collect items. The game is a kind of multiplayer, Stardew Valley. Players grow crops, fish, craft, decorate and trade. But My Neighbor Alice has quite a bit of complexity. For example, every body of water has a different selection of fish, with different fish preferring different types of bait!
My Neighbor Alice includes a companion mobile app called Alice’s wardrobe. Players can decorate their avatar in this app and then save their appearance to the blockchain for use in the main game. They also have their own marketplacewith item transactions using the game’s ALICE token.
