CZ Rejects “BinanceUS Platform Liquidation Plan” Reports

The CEO of Binance confirmed that the recently surfaced news about the liquidation of BinanceUS was not true and also pointed out several unfounded facts.

Binance is a popular global crypto exchange. At the moment, its US subsidiary BinanceUS is under a legal hurdle as charged this year by America’s two largest regulatory bodies, namely the SEC & CFTC. Yesterday, several reports claimed that Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) was trying to liquidate BinanceUS to get out of all the legal hurdles and save the Binance platform.

On August 3, 2023, Binance’s CEO reacted against the fake and baseless news, saying that these media reporters are not conducting proper investigations and not maintaining the quality of the report.

CZ explained that if the news were true, how can BinanceUS CEO stop the “corporate liquidation” decision as Binance CEO can make decisions for the future of the company but has no authority/ownership to act against the board management to fight.

Moreover, CZ said that even if we count the vote of the CEO of BinanceUS against the liquidation plan, a plan to liquidate the BinanceUS exchange would still happen with ⅔ vote.

According to CZ, the current CEO of BinanceUS is just a CEO of the platform and is not a shareholder and has no direct authority to vote against the decisions of the board of directors.

In this way Binance CEO explained that the whole news was fake and based on baseless points and that even they had not investigated properly.

On the same day, CZ shared some Binance successes. He said the exchange has obtained an operational MVP license in Dubai, becoming the first mover in Dubai, and Binance Japan officially launched this month.

And now the current number of registered users reaches 150 million, which is a very large number compared to any other crypto exchange.
