Earning at web3 gaming isn’t always about playing. An important aspect of many web3 games is embracing user-generated content. By the way, we’re going to tell you about three different contests that let you design and earn!
A common philosophy around web3 gaming is to embrace user generated content. Developers build with modders in mind and even hold contests to create designs for their games!
Speaking of which, we’re running design and earning contests for three different projects, all looking to tap into the creative spirit of their community!
Design a badge
Shrapnel brings us a design contest with their Insignia maker. The Insignia Creator is a web-based tool that allows players to manipulate various design elements to build their creations. And better minds than mine have made some pretty amazing creations!
This competition is divided into parts during three weeks. Each week will have a different theme. This contest started on August 17, so the first week ends tomorrow (August 24). But if you’d like to try your hand at getting a last-minute entry in, this week’s theme is fantasy.
Shrapnel is also teaming up with several other game communities to engage their players, as well as bolster the prize pool, including Shrapnel NFTs, Legendary Cards from Parallel, Wildpasses for Wildcard, and more! The partners for this Insignia event are Wildcard, Champions Ascension, Planet Mojo and Parallel.

Imagine a Mech
Phantom Galaxies is looking for something bigger with their Mech Design Challenge. In this contest, Phantom Galaxies asks community members to submit their own mech design. However, this is not just an event for artists. You can provide a work of art or blueprint, but you can also only provide a written description!
And this competition is wide open. These designs will never be implemented in the game, so players can let their imagination run wild. A jury selects the three best contenders, with the community also choosing their favorite.
Technically, this isn’t really a design and earn event. There are no rewards for winning, other than the admiration of your fellow community members. But it’s still a chance to show off your creative muscles!
Entries close at 8:59am on September 7, 2023 and must be posted on the Phantom galaxies discord.
Create a character skin
The third match we have for this article comes from Metarush. Metarush is running a Character Skin design contest. And it includes cash rewards too!
For this event, participants can design a basic suit and/or an epic suit. Base suits don’t make major changes to the character outline and don’t contain fancy-looking parts. On the other hand, epic suit designs can include pretty much any design you can imagine!
The best entry will receive MYRIA Tokens worth $200, and their design will be added to the game! Entries must be submitted before September 3, 2023. Usage this shape for your submissions.
