Elon Musk Denies Bloomberg Report Saying He Advised Donald Trump on Crypto

Elon Musk refutes claims that he was in talks with former US President Donald Trump about crypto.

Bloomberg recently cited a source reportedly aware of the meetings reported that the two billionaires discuss cryptocurrency policy.

However, in a post on social media platform say the report is unfounded.

“I’m pretty sure I’ve never talked to Trump about crypto, although I’m generally in favor of things that shift power from the government to the people, which crypto can do.”

Musk also denies a report of this The Wall Street Journal that he is being considered to take on an advisory role if Trump wins the upcoming presidential election in November.

“There have been no discussions about a role for me in a possible Trump presidency.”

News of Musk advising Trump on crypto emerges as the presumptive Republican nominee seeks support from the crypto community in his bid to return to the White House.

Trump, a former critic of digital assets who previously called Bitcoin (BTC) a rip-off against the US dollar, recently announced he is accepting crypto donations for his campaign.

He also criticized President Joe Biden and Gary Gensler, chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for their stance against digital assets.
