ENS and GoDaddy Bring Blockchain Domains to Over 20 Million Users

The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) has joined forces with GoDaddy – one of the world’s largest domain registrars – to merge traditional domains with the emerging blockchain world.

No additional costs are required for users to enjoy such benefits, making the benefits of decentralized domain names available to more than 20 million GoDaddy users seamlessly and without any barriers.

A bridge between Web2 and Web3 internet

ENS simplifies the use of complex Ethereum addresses by associating them with easy-to-understand names, such as “bob.eth”. The feature replicates the DNS operation commonly used to create URLs for traditional web domains.

GoDaddy has expressed its enthusiasm for this joint venture, stating that it will allow users to effortlessly link their domains to their ENS-backed cryptocurrency wallets. GoDaddy succinctly said, “Crypto payments have never been easier to accept.”

By introducing new smart contracts for free DNS-to-ENS domain connections, this collaboration is expected to address persistent issues such as high gas prices, subsequently enabling a smoother transition.

In its continued commitment to integration with the traditional web, ENS is also launching support for the latest domains such as (.box) that function in a similar way to conventional web domains.

Because GoDaddy and ENS domains bridge the traditional internet and blockchain internet, streamlining digital identities and transactions for a seamless web experience has never been easier.
