Gods Unchained goes mobile – Play to Earn

User Avatar

Finally, the mobile version of the Gods Unchained app has now been officially released. Now players can battle for arena supremacy wherever they are!

As we head into March, Gods Unchained can check off the first item on their 2024 roadmap. And that would be the official release of the mobile apps! For over five years, players have been able to compete against each other in various desktop versions of Gods Unchained. But now, finally, and after quite a tease last fall, Gods Unchained mobile apps have been officially released!

Players can install the app on iOS and Android devices. Check the Gods unleashed web page for the official links. You can play as a guest, no login required. Or you can log in with your immutable passport to access your accounts and earn GODS tokens as you play. The mobile interface is clean and offers everything the desktop client does apart from the Forge (although that will presumably be added later).

I found the card text too small to read easily on my phone. And it doesn’t seem like you can zoom in with the app. But overall a great first release for GU mobile!

Mobile gaming is huge. The Web3 gaming charts are increasingly dominated by mobile-oriented games and platforms. And while Gods Unchained is well known in the web3 gaming circles, it’s not so well known outside of it. We’ll see if making the game more accessible by releasing these mobile versions will make a difference in player numbers.

Either way, I don’t see Gods Unchained going away anytime soon, but I’m sure both the team and the current player base would love to see an increase in player activity!

What is God’s Unchained?

Gods Unchained is a free to play collectible card game. Gods Unchained is built on the Ethereum blockchain and uses the Immutable X layer-2 solution for gas-free trading. Players retain full ownership of their cards. Players can earn digital ‘Core’ cards by playing the game. When a player has two identical Core cards, he can merge them into one blockchain-based card. That card can then be traded on the markets.

Gods Unchained offers various playing and earning options. Players can earn cards by being active players, win packs while participating in the weekend tournaments, and can even receive GODS tokens for playing every day!

With several expansions on the belt, Gods Unchained has a wide variety of cards for different play styles. Players can purchase and unlock packs through the official site. Secondary sales are available on the Immutable X Marketplace and Token Trove.
