Progress of the Golem (GLM) Project beta testing program for GPU providers
According to a recent blog post through Golem Project, the GPU Provider Beta Testing Program has made significant progress. This program, which launched on January 29, has already achieved several milestones, with valuable feedback from community members playing a crucial role in the process.
Milestones achieved
The beta testing program has registered over 300 people on the waiting list to date, with 67 people having received an invitation to participate in the beta testing. The selection criteria was based on having a single GPU in the machine, as multi-GPU support is not yet available.
During the beta testing sessions, providers were working on AI tasks, where tester feedback helped shape updates and fixes to the documentation. Another 17 beta testers have been invited to participate, with GPUs such as A6000, A40 and A100.
Upcoming steps
The Golem Project is now focusing on a project aimed at developing multi-GPU support within the provider. This project is still in the planning stages and is expected to take two months to complete. Once completed, beta testing will resume, involving participants who have at least two GPUs in one machine.
Existing beta testers will continue to receive tasks. At the same time, the project will conduct demand-side testing with developers and startups, and engage in conversations with applicants to better understand their needs. Next, the team will announce their plan for supporting applicants and invite the Golem community to participate in beta testing the solutions provided by applicants.
The team expressed its enthusiasm to share exciting developments with the community once multi-GPU support is ready, and encouraged interested parties to sign up and join the waitlist.
