A user of the OKX exchange suggested that crypto investors should not use the OKX crypto exchange as OKX denies taking any responsibility for the hacking incident.

Three days ago we reported that the OKX crypto exchange has compensated two OKX users, victims of a hacking incident. OKX Exchange has made the use of Google authenticator mandatory for all OKX users to prohibit similar types of incidents.

One of the OKX users who faced a hacking incident reported that the hacker managed to steal his crypto assets due to the fault of his telecom operator and also due to the negligence of the OKX exchange.

Explaining the whole story step by step, the user explained that the hacker managed to reissue his mobile SIM card due to the telecom operator’s negligence, but the OKX team still failed to freeze the funds.

The user’s mobile phone number has been reissued by hackers through the telecom operator, indicating a flaw in the telecom company’s security and authentication processes.

The victim explained that he reported the incident to the OKX team to freeze the stolen money, but they refused to do so and further instructed him to file a complaint with the police.

According to the OKX user, the transaction type was C2C merchants, while OKX claims to trust all C2C merchants. So why did OKX fail to freeze the money?

This OKX user also explained that luckily he received tremendous support from his local police officer, but did not receive higher level support from the OKX team.

Furthermore, he noted that he used the same email account and mobile number for his Binance account, but the hacker only targeted his OKX account.

Taking this factor into consideration, the victim tried to explain that the Binance crypto exchange is very safe compared to the OKX crypto exchange and people should be careful about their decision to go for the OKX crypto exchange to choose.
