- zkSync Era has clocked over 1.5 million daily transactions in the last 24 hours.
- zkSync Era has hosted the largest number of daily active users in the past two months.
Layer-2 (L2) blockchain zkSync Era also extended its dominant performance to 2o24, consistently processing more transactions than any other Ethereum [ETH] scale solution.
zkSync Era leads the pack
The zero-knowledge rollup (zk-rollup) has clocked more than 1.5 million daily transactions in the past 24 hours, according to a report from Ethereum Daily.
Traditional powerhouses like Arbitrum [ARB] and optimism [OP] were in second and fourth place respectively.

Further investigation by AMBCrypto revealed a month of dominance by the L2 network.
According to data from L2Beat, more than 40 million cumulative transactions have been settled on zkSync Era in the past 30 days, the most by any Ethereum L2 solution.
zkSync Era also delivered a high average throughput of 16.11 transactions per second (TPS) in the last 24 hours.
In fact, zkSync Era was the only L2 network to consistently record double-digit TPS over the past month. It peaked at 62.07 TPS on average for one day on December 16.
zkSync Era has also dominated other aspects of network activity. According to AMBCrypto’s analysis of Artemis data, it has hosted the largest number of daily active users over the past two months.
The number of unique active addresses reached 399.89,000 as of January 6, more than the combined number of the next four on the list.
zkSync Era rates lower in TVL
Despite a strong performance in network fundamentals, zkSync Era has lagged in attracting decentralized applications (dApps) and thus the associated liquidity.
The total value (TVL) on the rollup was just $541 million at the time of writing, significantly lower than Arbitrum, OP Mainnet, and even Base.
Will we see an airdrop in 2024?
Strong network activity almost always fuels speculation about a possible AirDrop. This is despite the fact that zkSync has made no official announcements or even hinted at such a scenario.
Airdrops are a controversial topic within the cryptocurrency community. While some consider them marketing gimmicks, proponents believe they can have a strong impact on user engagement and overall project success.
