In the latest display of NFTs hitting the mainstream, popular livestreamer Kai Cenat dropped a Pudgy penguins plush in front of tens of thousands of his fans live on Twitch.
This caps off a big year for the blue-chip NFT collection, following the debut of these plushies at Walmart locations in the US in September 2023.

22-year-old Kai Cenat is currently the second most subscribed livestreamer and the 14th most followed livestreamer on Twitch, with approximately 7 million followers and hundreds of thousands of regular viewers. During the live broadcast, he showed off a Pudgy Penguins plush that he had just purchased from Twitch, expressing his excitement about the digital NFT element.
Pudgy Penguins is a collectible NFT collection of 8,888 pieces, created by a group of American students, and minted in July 2021. Ownership of the collection was purchased by 25-year-old Luca Netz in April 2022 for $2.5 million USD in Ethereum and has gone from strength to strength since, hitting a floor price of 10.8 ETH at the time of writing and becoming the first web3-native brand to have a major toy distribution deal.
