Los Angeles Bored & Hungry closes, transfers ownership to DAO

After two years of operation, the Bored and hungry restaurant in Long Beach, California, has officially closed its doors.

The brand, which used the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT as its brand, has been acquired by Hungry DAO.

Bored & Hungry opened in April 2022 and was recognized for its fusion of burger cuisine with the unique branding of the BAYC NFT.

Bored & Hungry shifts its focus to Asia and the Middle East

Andy Nguyen, co-founder of Bored and Hungry, confirmed the closure posted a statement on Xstating, “Today we say goodbye to the original Bored & Hungry location in Long Beach, CA.”

Branding and franchising company Hungry DAO has acquired the Bored & Hungry brand and the restaurant’s founding team will retain a stake in the brand and join the DAO as shareholders. He added: “The supportive BAYC and web3 community helped us break new ground, becoming the first to take ownership of the digital IP asset and create a restaurant brand.”

Nguyen was proud of the restaurant’s achievements, saying, “We are proud to have made our mark and are excited to see what the community takes next.”

Although the original store is closed, Bored & Hungry will soon announce its new U.S. location. In the meantime, you can find Bored & Hungry at their regular locations in Seoul and Manila.
