Mint NFTs at The Machines Arena

User Avatar

With their third beta season underway, The Machines Arena is taking another step forward in implementing their game economy by allowing players to mine skins they earn in-game as NFTs!

The Machines Arena is currently in closed beta testing. But that won’t stop them from releasing a new update that will allow players to mine their character skins on the Ronin Network. This feature went live at the end of February. NFT Coins is available on The Machines Arena website.

Right now, minting your NFT skins only costs the network gas fee. In the future, there will be some sort of in-game requirement before skins can be minted. So jump in and start minting while it’s (mostly) free!

The hitting is done on the Ronin network. So you need to own and link a Ronin wallet, as well as a small amount of RON token to pay for the gas costs. The Machines Arena team has put together a quick guide on how to set up a wallet and obtain RON tokens. You can read that here.

Players can do that buy and sell NFTs for The Machines Arena at the Mavis Market. And while there is some activity in the NFT market, the player base for The Machines Arena is currently quite small. So there is not yet a great demand for these NFTs.

Players who reach the ‘Machine’ rank in ranked PvP during Beta Season 3 (currently underway) will earn a ‘Sandbrushed’ skin for the Riot character. A key is required to access the closed beta. You can sign up here to be on the listbut they also give away keys, so keep an eye on their social media channels.

Although the team claims that players will be able to mine all their own skins, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I earned five skins, but only one of them was coinable. It’s unclear if we’ll be able to purchase the others in the future, or if they’ll just be in-game items.

What is the Machines Arena?

The Machines Arena is a fast-paced, action-packed, top-down MOBA game that pits two teams of four players against each other in various game modes. Using weapons such as guns, lasers and flamethrowers, players fight in matches that typically last 5-10 minutes. The Machines Arena offers ten characters to choose from, with an assortment of powers, strengths and weaknesses. Characters are classified as tank, support, and attack. Working together with your team is crucial for success.

The Machines Arena was not originally planned as a blockchain game. But since their first beta release, they’ve expanded their plans. And following a partnership with Sky Mavis, players in The Machines Arena can now mint, buy and sell character skins on the Ronin Network.

The game is still in early development, but already features a very playable game. You can sign up for the closed beta at https://www.themachinesarena.com/closed-beta
