A new expansion will soon be released in Parallel called Planetfall. This expansion brings new cards, new faction skills, new keys, new Paragon skins and more! A pre-sale phase will start on October 25, with the public sale opening on October 28.
It’s time for something new in Parallel! In concrete terms, a new extension that will be sold in two phases: presale and public.
Players and NFT holders will have access to a pre-sale. The snapshot for pre-sale access will take place soon (or has already been taken) and will include Prime Key holders. Avatar Holders, Masterpiece Holders, Terminal Holders, Premium Battle Pass Holders, Active Parallel Players [who’ve achieved an MMR within the current season]and PRIME holders with a balance of more than 111 PRIME.
The pre-sale snapshot will take place on Thursday, October 19th at 5:00 PM EST. Planetfall pre-sale begins on October 25 at 3:00 PM EST and runs until October 27 at 10:00 AM EST. The public sale starts on October 28.
There are three levels of packs available for Planetfall: the Player Pack, the Collector Pack, and the Collector Crate. The total supply of Player Packs is 50,000, priced at 0.02 ETH each. There are 18,646 Collector Packs available, priced at 0.2 ETH each. And Collector Crates are a bundle of 10 Collector Packs, priced at 1.8 ETH (10% discount).
Player packs are basic packs, which contain a random card selection. Collector Packs also include cosmetics, keys, a first edition Planetfall Promo Card Back and one raffle ticket for the Ultimate Pack Giveaway.
Players will be able to open their packs sometime in the fourth quarter of 2023 and won’t be able to transfer them until October 29th.
We don’t have many details about the expansion yet. Although we do know that it will include 120 new cards and new faction abilities. In addition, new keys will be available. Keys provide various bonuses to the players who keep watch, such as increasing the number of PRIME tokens earned for winning matches. Some of the cosmetic items include new Paragon skins and new ‘Field Backs’ or game boards.
What is parallel?
Parallel is a science fiction themed TCG with some interesting mechanics. A lot of it is the standard stuff we expect from a digital TCG these days. Two players build a deck of cards and then take turns drawing these cards in a duel. The first player to reduce their opponent to zero life wins. Cards come in three types: units, effects (spells), and relics. Parallel offers five ‘Parallels’, which are similar to gods/summoners/champions/etc. in other games.
Players build stacks of 40 cards in parallel. Each deck can have a maximum of three copies of a card in the deck, with the exception of legendary cards, which may only be included once. Each deck can use cards from one Parallel, as well as cards marked as Universal. Additionally, players choose a Paragon for their deck. Paragons provide passive bonuses throughout the match regardless of their status, and therefore function as in-play units with stats and possibly other bonuses or effects.
The mana/energy system in Parallel requires players to ‘bank’ cards from their hand. Each saved card grants one additional maximum energy each turn. Players start the game with no energy, so they must collect at least one card. Players can play one card per turn. And if they put a card in the piggy bank, they draw an extra card at the end of their turn.
Players who win matches with NFT cards in their deck will receive PRIME tokens. Parallel will also include a free-to-play option.
PRIME is the main game token and card collectors can already earn some just by staking their cards. Parallel also offers a map creation tool called Payload. Players can pay a fee in PRIME tokens to generate new cards. Additionally, Parallel supports ‘Artigraph’ cards: NFT cards that are digitally signed by the artist. Players can obtain these limited edition cards by paying a fee and upgrading an existing card.
