The Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) has its State of the Industry Report 2023highlighting trends and predictions for the blockchain gaming space.

Web2 Studios is at the forefront

According to the findings, industry professionals are largely convinced that existing Web2 studios and franchises will drive mainstream adoption of Web3 games.

The survey results show that 19.8% of respondents see the launch of Web3 games by traditional game studios as the most impactful development for Web3 gaming in 2023. Additionally, 15.2% believe that the transition from Web2 or traditional gaming to the web3 domain is a key factor. .

A total of 35% of participants recognize the crucial role of web2 game studios in driving web3 adoption, highlighting their contributions in terms of talent, experience, brand recognition and large audiences.

Furthermore, the report indicates that 52.1% of respondents strongly believe that at least 20% of the global video game industry, which is expected to be valued at $347 billion by the end of the year, will be lost within the next will integrate blockchain technology for twelve months.
