Unofficial lord of the caffeinated drink, Starbucks, has unveiled the latest phase of its NFT loyalty initiative. So get ready to pay homage to an iconic piece of coffee-related apparel in the, drum roll please, Starbucks Green Apron collection!
Members of the Starbucks Odyssey program enter on August 1 at noon PDT and can purchase up to 2 NFTs in celebration of 50 years of the beloved green apron. However, those who completed 3 “trips” before July 28, and members of the Starbucks workplace, can hit 3 hours early, at 9 a.m. PDT. Depending on its popularity, the coin will remain good for 7 days, or until the entire supply is used up.
Starbucks’ Green Apron collection will consist of 5,000 individual NFTs that harness the raw power of the iconic barista uniform. As a result, it will revive apron designs throughout its 50-year rise as a coffee powerhouse, from its humble ‘Pike Place’ beginnings to today’s ultra-modern apparel. Each NFT is sold at a fixed price of $100 through the NiftyGateway marketplacewith designs set to be revealed on Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. PDT.
Starbucks green apron NFTs go beyond collectibles
Those who commit to Starbucks’ pioneering Odyssey program will benefit from their participation. As a result, holders receive a bonus of 1500 points per NFT to enhance their experience. However, should the holder sell or transfer the ‘stamp’, those points will be deducted from their annual total.
