StarGarden is closing, perhaps temporarily – Play to Earn

The bear market is claiming a new web3 game as StarGarden announces they are closing while they look for additional sources of funding. This has also led to the layoff of most of their staff, but the remaining team still promises to have mini-game releases through Fortnite!

After conducting an early access playtest earlier this year, it seemed like StarGarden was well on its way to joining the ranks of active, playable Web3 games. However, that has all come to a standstill! The StarGarden team just announced that they are pausing development of their games, laying off most of their team, and working on finding ways to receive funding for further development.

And, as is often the case, StarGarden’s owners claim that this is not a conclusion to the game, but rather just a temporary hiatus. However, as we have seen in the past, these temporary shutters often turn into permanent closures.

And to show that all is not lost, the remaining StarGarden team plans to release a few mini-games they designed. This is done via the Fortnite platform of the Unreal Engine. with the first release on Saturday September 30th. Check them Disagreement for more information on how to become a member.

It’s always sad to see a promising project forced to close its doors. But maybe StarGarden will be one of the few projects that actually manages to turn things around and come back from the dead!

What is StarGarden?

StarGarden, the game, is a free-to-play, competitive auto-battler.

Then there are also StarGarden NFTs, which will act as tribe (guild) bases within the game. StarGarden features the typical auto-battler game mechanics and the ability for players to collect and craft new creatures and items. But StarGarden will also emphasize player collaboration through tribes. Each StarGarden NFT represents one tribe. Players in that tribe can contribute to building a community through quests. This also opens up additional crafting, quest options and slots for additional players. And this stem growth is even permanently stored in the metadata for the StarGarden NFT!

Players can do that buy Founding StarGarden NFTs in third-party markets. The team also says they will not be selling any creatures, ingredients or materials for use in the game. Instead, it is left up to the players to build their own game economy.
