There are more software developers than Web3 engineers (30 million to 30 thousand)! Coinbase wants to solve that…

TL; DR

  • The Base Bootcamp is an eight-week program from Coinbase designed to help experienced developers become smart contract developers.

  • Our favorite part? They will learn by doing.

  • Converting 20 new Web3 engineers at once through Base Bootcamp isn’t much, but it’s a start!

At some point in the next few weeks, people will start asking each other:

“What are your Thanksgiving plans?”

For twenty selected software engineers from around the world, the answer will be something along the lines of:

‘Eating turkey and preparing for the Basic Boot Camp.”

The Base Bootcamp is an eight-week program from Coinbase designed to help experienced developers become smart contract developers.

The cohort of students admitted to the program will receive:

  1. A mentor for guidance

  2. A direct contact for Coinbase/Base engineers

  3. An invitation to a private Discord server with other students

Our favorite part?

They will learn by doing.

During the eight-week course, each engineer will develop a Web3 app and (hopefully) have a minimum viable product ready by the end of it all.

Here’s why this is all important:

Software developers outnumber Web3 engineers by a thousand!

That’s 30 million versus 30 thousand.

If Web3 continues to grow and proliferate, we need more engineers!

Converting 20 at a time via Base Bootcamp isn’t much, but it’s a start!
