For many school-going children, the summer holidays are already coming to an end. But in the time remaining, there are still some new web3 gaming alphas and demos for you to try! And while web3 games seem to be doing well, pretty much all of the NFT collections took a hit this week.
NFT trading volume is down again for the top projects – and indeed for most projects. Some say NFTs are dead, which we know is not entirely true. But maybe the type of NFTs people value is starting to change. And web3 gaming, which inherently adds value to their NFTs, is in a prime spot to capture more mainstream attention!
If you’re looking for something to do this week, there are plenty of options. Metalcore is opening their alpha, giving all players the chance to try their hand at their sci-fi FPS game, a kind of cross between Battlefield and Planetside. Those who own an Eversed Battle Plant or Ranger can try out the new version of their alpha, featuring randomized cards, a new interface and a battle pass system.
Metarush is accepting requests for an upcoming closed demo playtest and an open beta for Parallel, a sci-fi themed TCG game, will begin on July 31. And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a chance to play to smash a Fableborn Primordial!
And right now there are always alphas and betas for a variety of web3 games!
Read on for a rundown of the week’s most active web3 games and NFT projects. And be sure to keep our website and Twitter feed for the latest developments in web3 gaming!

Sweat Economy takes another big drop this week and indeed it looks like this move to earn a mobile app has been just a brief sensation. But we’ll see. It can still continue to lose active players at the same rate and stay on our charts for a few weeks. And our other recent monetization app, SuperWalk, is still holding 56,000 users.
The big surprise this week comes from Splinterlands. After following up on a recent community vote to ban bots from modern competitions, I expected a drop in numbers. Instead, we have an active player increase of 184%, putting Splinterlands back in the top three!
And our new entry this week is Unnamed platform, a Free to Play, Retro, Web-based, Multiplayer, 2D Platformer. Players earn rewards for their participation in the game and for placing at the top of the leaderboard.

A tough week for NFT trading. Decreases in trading volume across the board, except for Art Blocks, which is actually a collection of art collections from different artists.
Demand for NFTs continues to decline, especially those with no real use case. The time seems right for NFT gaming collections to hit our charts. But Gods Unchained still remains the only real game collection anywhere near the top 10. And they remain strong, with a steady stream of $4 million plus in trading volume each week – even with the recession, and a relatively small player base! And to be honest, I have to wonder if some of this is wash trading for IMX rewards. Otherwise, Gods Unchained players average about $1k per week per player! Which is not quite right.
In addition, we have the usual suspects in our line-up, with some shuffling of places.
