Bringing Web3 TCG to a wider audience
Parallel is a competitive trading card game featuring NFTs minted on Ethereum and the layer-2 network Base, along with non-tokenized in-game cards. Previously, Parallel expanded its player base earlier this year with an open beta release after a closed beta phase.
To celebrate the launch, players who download the free-to-play game from the Epic Games Store will receive five additional “Apparition Packs” containing non-NFT cards.
Franklin Fitch, Head of Partnerships at Parallel Studios, said: “Epic’s parallel go-live opens us up to millions of additional players around the world, but we don’t plan to stop there. As we roll out more ways to access and play Parallel, we also plan to scale our competitive prize pool to millions of dollars next year.”
Parallel Studios is also focusing on eSports, with plans to award more than $500,000 in prizes during the first year of Parallel League competitions. Fitch indicated that future prize pools could increase as the player base grows.
A mobile version of the game is also planned, in addition to ongoing eSports competitions.
