Crazy worlda post-apocalyptic shooter developed by Carbonated Inc., has opened registration for its Early Access playtest.
This follows the closing of an $11 million Series A funding round led by South Korean gaming company Com2uS and including VC heavyweights such as Andreessen Horowitz, Bitkraft Ventures, Cypher Capital and more.
The public launch of MadWorld is expected to take place later this year.
What is MadWorld?
Set on Earth after an event known as ‘The Collapse’, MadWorld sees players fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic landscape.
Ownership, enhancement and trading of tokenized representations of real-world locations is a key feature, with 250,000 plots on a hexagonal grid. Each plot offers different resources and benefits, allowing players to form clans to gather what they need – by any means necessary.
To acquire these resources, Clans pay tribute to NFT landowners in the form of ‘Rounds’, an in-game currency that can be exchanged for a fungible token.
