Animoca Brands is announcing a new game called Wreck League, with a planned season one collaboration with Yuga Labs. Featuring Street Fighter style combat with fully customizable Mech fighters, Wreck League promises to create new partnerships with themed items each season!

Wreck League, a new PvP fighting game featuring customizable Mechs, has been announced by Animoca Brands.

Animoca Brands is planning seasonal collaborations for Wreck League and is already working with Yuga Labs to make Wreck League part of “The Extended Yugaverse of Bored Ape and Otherside.” Owners of Bored Apes, Mutant Apes, Kodas and Kennel Club NFTs have access to a free, fully built Founders Mech. This Mech cannot be deconstructed.

For everyone else, there will soon be a coin for boxes containing parts to assemble Mechs. Applying for the admission list is open to everyone, although you will have to go through a KYC process nWayPlay. The coin will run in several phases, with the first launching sometime in August.

Buyers have the option to purchase Majestic Boxes, which contain 10 random parts needed to assemble a full Mech, and Booster Boxes, which contain five completely random parts. The boxes and the parts are all NFTs and come in different rarities. In addition, some boxes will contain special Mech parts linked to the Yuga Labs collections.

What is Wreck League?

Wreck League is a side-scrolling, PvP, one-on-one action fighting game. However, instead of a fixed list of characters, players build their own battle Mechs from NFT parts! These parts not only affect the appearance of the Mecha, but also the combat capabilities of the Mecha.

Mechs are made up of 10 different types of parts, with over 1.4 quadrillion available combinations. Fortunately, the game allows players to take apart their mechs and recover their parts for use in another creation. So if you don’t like how your Mech is performing, you can always tear it down and start over!

Wreck League will feature both a web3, NFT-based version and a free-to-play, web2 version. The web3 version will be launched first, the web2 version will follow later this year.

Wreck League has three tournaments planned for Season One that will offer Mech Parts as rewards, including unique NFTs.

An interesting addition is that those who build and own NFT Mechs can only make in-game copies of those Mechs and sell them through the game store to other players who receive a share of the proceeds in return. So players who can pull off awesome combos might be able to monetize their Mech building skill!
